Do ouija boards have a certain degree of power?

August 24th, 2010

Question:
I had seen a story about it on tv once and these three slutty looking girls were playing with it. So one thing led to another and at the end they throw it in a fire place. the next day one of the girls wake up only to find the ouija board back on top of the table.

  1. Guy Fawkes says:

I’m fairly sure from research on the subject that Ouija boards are an open invitation to fallen angels and evil spirits to come into your life. I strongly recommend not interfering with things you don’t understand.

  2. PureClarity says:

yes, a ouija board has a degree power of absolute 0.

  3. DinoF says:

It would all depend on 3 things.

    1. Who is using it as it is said to be directly related to what you can expect. Basically if you believe it has no power you are less likely to experience anything as a lot of people will attest to who have used it. If you do not believe this is where you would probably stop reading as you will not accept anything anyone would tell you anyways. At the same token the people who have used it who do believe are more likely to experience the power. Again most of the documented cases involve people who have taken it seriously. These people oddly enough do include a rather high percentage of people with religious beliefs.

    2. How the Ouija Board is used. There are rules that would seem to be more than logical if you believe in the powers of the Ouija Board that are more designed for your safety. The questions that are asked can directly effect any encounter with an entity. Going beyond the recommended rules or disregarding simple precautions you can take would only leave you vulnerable. You mentioned the returning Ouija Board after it has been disposed of. This could be from multiple reasons including not properly shutting down the board after use. Even the proper ways of disposing of an Ouija Board may not have been followed not to mention the precautions of protecting yourself.

    3. Control is very important. Anything that could potentially bring harm to you should be controlled. You would not let your car drive itself. This control is not only exhibited by yourself but other partaking in the experience. We all have friends who like to live dangerously. If you are using the Ouija Board much like giving your car keys to a drunken friend is not smart at all. If this is the Case you are already in danger.

Like most things in life you have a choice, please make the right ones.

    Be Good

  4. Faesson says:

Really dumb people think OUIJA boards are “portals” to “the other side” or something, but fear not… these people count on their fingers and toes.

When you see a show on TV, it’s probably fiction. You remember “Chucky”? They threw that doll into the oven and a wood-chipper and set off a thermonuclear bomb next to him and it never stopped him? Ten minutes with my great-nephew and he would be parts, I guarantee. Fiction isn’t real. OUIJA boards are a game, demonstrating ideomotor response.

Anyone that thinks a board game is dangerous or that demons are real, should make that announcement in public, preferably in front of their bosses at work.

  5. Emzii_x says:

I believe it lends us certain power to communicate with spirits but it’s not a being, the board can’t move itself lol. I guess it could be argued that since I believe spirits can move the pointer to communicate then I should believe that a strong spirit could move the entire board….but I don’t. And anyway that still wouldn’t give the board itself power.

  6. Night says:

It’s your subconscious pushing the glass or ouija planchette thingy.

Use to do the upside down glass with letters in a circle as a teen. It’s our collective unconscious, there are no ghosts, spirits or demons due that death is 100% terminal, fatal and final. So have fun with that board!

  7. Jared Huggins says:

Yep that was real. And Paranormal activity was real. And the basement chronicles were real. And Santa Claus is real.

  8. Skag Baron says:

Ouija boards aren’t anything like that. they do provide a vague form of communication with spirits, but they only tend to attract negative spirits and/or demons. they shouldn’t be tampered with at all. if you throw one into a fire, it’ll turn to burn just like anything else made of wood.
